This is one of a small series of caches based on the book, "Raleigh: An Unorthodox History of North Carolina's Capital" by Marshall Lancaster (1992, Down Home Press). You are looking for a pencil tin, filled with swag and log and camo'd to blend in. Please rehide it well and use high stealth, as this is a motor muggle area.
From the book:
"The Oberlin Community, steadily nibbled away at by development for decades, has been a residential area for Raleigh's African Americans since after the Civil War. At one point, there was a master plan for a new, independant, black city ot San Domingo, to be located off Wade Avenue, but the scheme failed".
The cache location would have been at the entrance to San Domingo, had the plan gone through.
