Geocache Description:

More UP.

It’s hard to believe that no one has placed caches on this, one of big Bear’s most popular hikes. So, I felt it was my duty to fill the need. Since it’s called Castle Rock I thought I would be cute and name the caches in order of royal hierarchy (English). There are seven levels so seven caches. The hike to Castle Rock is only 1 mile – but it goes hither and yon so the cache series extends past Castle Rock itself (with a gap for Beyond Castle Rock cache). From the final KING cache it was only .7 miles to the highway. Final cache is at 7208 feet elevation.

So starting with the lowly (?) BARON, we then hike up to the still low VISCOUNT. Continuing UP we will find the EARL and then the MARQUESS. Finally, attaining some stature and altitude we will reach the DUKE. From there to the PRINCE and finally the KING.
