Geocache Description:

Despite the name, this cache is not in or around a cemetery. Instead, it is located in a park that hosts an 18 hole Disc Golf Course. It should not be difficult to find, however, there is a significant down-hill going in and up-hill coming out. You may want to bring your favorite disc and play your way around to it, or carry a disc so you "blend in". Depending on the day, time and weather, there will be muggles playing the course, so be cautious.

The cache is an ammo container which can hold small to medium size trade items and a log book. If you wish, feel free to write a short note about your visit, I will add log pages as needed. Initial cache contents included a small doll, candle stick, hat, candle holder, decorative jar topper, McToy and a rubber bracelet. Please remember to trade-even or trade-up.

The Disc Golf Course was built in Simsbury Park in early 2010. The following quote is from ThisWeek Community Newspaper.

The 37-acre park, which is free to play, was carved out of previously undeveloped land. It will be the city's first 18-hole disc golf course and will feature wooded areas, a 50-space parking lot, elevated tees and greens and doglegs left and right.

"The short tees measure (a combined) 5,148 feet and the long tees stretch to 6,748 feet," Carr said. "It's approximately one-third the size of a traditional ball golf course."

The course was designed by Paul "Beard" Jay, president of the Columbus Flyers Disc Golf Club. He has designed or assisted in the design of numerous central Ohio disc golf courses, including ones in Grove City, Hilliard and Newark.

An avid professional disc golf player, Jay said Pickerington's course is top-notch.

"That course right now is one of the best courses in Ohio," he said. "There's no doubt about it. It's what we call a 'championship course.' It's going to have all the bells and whistles."

Permission has been obtained from the Pickerington Parks and Recreation Department to place this cache on park property. Please respect the disc golf course, park rules and surrounding environment. Please re-hide the cache as you found it to avoid it being muggled.
