Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the given coordinates! To find this cache and complete the Lagomorph series, you need to have both CLUES and NUMBERS from each of these four caches: Hay, Please: rabbits as pets; We're Crepuscular: wild rabbits and hares; Literary Lapines: from Peter to Bunnicula; Wascally Wabbits: bunnies in popular culture. You must access the inside of the cache and SIGN the actual log to claim your smiley.

All rabbits, hares, and pikas are members of the family Lagomorpha. Lagomorphs were originally classified as rodents and it was not until 1912 that they were given their own family. Unlike rodents, lagomorphs have two sets of incisors in their upper jaw: the familiar buck teeth, and behind those, smaller peg teeth. Other unique characteristics include: Lagomorphs move by saltation (a fancy term for hopping). Lagomorphs are completely vegetarian. Rabbits and hares are the best known lagomorphs, and we recognize them by their long ears and powerful hindquarters. Pikas are lagomorphs that live near mountain meadows among the boulders. They have small ears and look a bit like hamsters, but share the other characteristics of lagomorphs. "Conejo rojo" is Spanish for "red rabbit." We hope you have enjoyed learning about our namesake. Go to N 44 39.ABC W 089 38.DEF The cache has been stocked with some appropriately themed swag items and collectibles including some conejos made in Mexico.
