This cache is located below the crash site of Air Tanker 04, that crashed on July 29, 1994 killing both the pilot, Bob Kelly, and his co-pilot, Randy Lynn. The actual crash site is about 350 feet up the hill from the crash and is still very visible, but there is some debris from the wreckage around the cache location. Out of respect for the crew, the cache is not hidden under any of the wreckage debris that is still on the hillside. I'm also asking your respect for the crew by not taking any of the wreckage home as a souvenir.
If you haven't done so already, I would suggest doing Jennifer & Deans "Out to Pasture" cache (GCNFT0) before doing this one to find out more information on the crash. This is suggested for information only, and is not needed to find this cache.
The cache is a decon container with a log only. You will need to bring your own autographing tool. There is room for small trade items, but I would discourage leaving trackables, as this cache will not be available in the winter, and items may spend long periods of time in this cache.
The shortest trail access to get close to this cache is the Cha-paa-qn Trail (number 707) that starts off of Forest Road 2178. A longer route is from the Reservation Divide Trail that starts off of the Edith Peak Road (Forest Road 476), then down Trail 707 to the top of the old fire. Either way, there will be some bush whacking necessary to get from the trail to the cache site.
