Hong Kong Olympic Trail, July 18, 2008
To mark the historical occasion of Beijing hosting the Olympic
Games 2008 and Hong Kong co-hosting the Olympic Equestrian Event,
the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government had obtained
the approval of the International Olympic Committee to name a trail
from Pak Mong Village to Mui Wo as "Hong Kong Olympic Trail" and a
tree planting site at a slope near Pak Mong Village as "Olympic
Green".
Till Jun 2012, the route from Tung Chung to Pak Mong of Tung Mui
Ancient Trail is temporary closed due to construction works. If you
would like to hike from Tung Chung, please refer to the attached
map for the revised hiking route or you can take bus route 36
(http://www.newlantaobus.com/road_36.htm) from Tung Chung.
