Geocache Description:

There will be a special Venango county AGT stamp at the event so be sure to bring your passports. **Mike says he will be there so bring your passports and get your coins (yes all the counties)**.

Please watch this page for any changes that may come up (all for the good I should think).

OK here is a little blerb for “Oil Region Alliance of Business, Industry & Tourism " who sponsored all those lovely AGT coins that we have all been collecting and the new OCSP and Kenerdale coins that are now in many of the park caches. Oh by the way Mike from the ORA is also responsible for getting the DCNR to give of the shelter for free so be sure to say thanks when you see him.

For our 5th year we have decided to bring the AGT back to where it all started.

The geomeet at the posted coordinates is a regular geocaching
event, however, it is also part of the Allegheny GeoTrail (AGT), a
publicly funded project designed to promote a pleasant and positive
experience and image of the Allegheny National Forest region and
its gateway communities. The AGT utilizes the growing interest in
geocaching to assist both residents and visitors to the area in
learning more about the unique attractions in the ten participating
counties. This cache contains a unique self inking rubber stamp
which you should use to stamp your Allegheny GeoTrail Passport to
verify that you found it. When you have found a minimum of six AGT
caches, you will be eligible to have your AGT passport validated
and receive a commemorative AGT trackable geocoin at participating
locations. You must have your official AGT passport with you when
you find this cache in order to stamp it. Click on the Allegheny
GeoTrail Logo below to visit the AGT website at
www.alleghenygeotrail.com for complete details and a listing of
participating locations where you may pick up and validate AGT
passports to receive your souvenir geocoin, trackable at
www.geocaching.com .

The 5th Annual Oil Region Cachers Event will be held from 11:00am
to 5:00 pm on Saturday, September 25, 2010, at the Eggbert picnic
shelter in the Oil Creek State Park Everyone is asked to bring a
tureen to share. Electric, water, and restrooms are available.
Several temporary caches and or permanent ones will be placed for
the event. Children 12 and under will be able to search for
no-car-needed hides that will be placed on the park grounds. Door
prizes will be given away at 4:30 pm. Any donations for door prizes
can be brought to the event. Donations will not be accepted to help
offset the cost of renting the building as the DCNR has graciously
offered us the building rent free. Please indicate the number
attending in your group. Also, anyone attending who has a
geocaching account should sign up individually.
