This cache is dedicated to friends who make
the adventure of geocaching a reality. Here is a little tale that
is not so much based in reality. Thanks to my friends TeamChramy
for the cache series idea and my friend who owns the nearby pumpkin

~ It's the Great Pumpkin

With autumn already in full swing, the MTGC
gang prepared for Halloween. Meanwhile, Southpaw decided to write
his annual letter to The Great Pumpkin, much to TeamChramy’s
disbelief, Monkeybrad's and Scoot the Frog's laughter, robertlipe's
assurance that the Great Pumpkin is not true, and even to salpal's
violent threat to make her brother stop.
Southpaw laments in the letter that "more people
believe in Santa Claus than in you". When Southpaw goes out to mail
the letter, salpal refuses to help him; so he uses his security
blanket to open the mailbox.
On Halloween night, the gang, including thumper369, went
trick-or-treating. On the way, they stopped at the pumpkin patch to
ridicule Southpaw's who missed the festivities last year and seemed
to be doing again; but Southpaw is convinced that the Great Pumpkin
will come and even persuaded thumper369 to stay and wait with him.
The gang went off, leaving Southpaw and thumper369
behind.
During trick-or-treating, everyone else got assorted candy,
apples, gum, cookies, money, and popcorn balls ~ but at every
house, TeamChramy got a rock. After tricks-or-treating and another
visit to the pumpkin patch to talk to Southpaw and thumper369, the
MTGC gang went to JoGPS and Wild_Bill's Halloween cache
event.
Meanwhile, Monkeybrad, wearing his World War I flying ace gear,
climbed aboard his Sopwith Camel (his doghouse) to fight the Red
Baron. After a fierce but losing battle, Monkeybrad made his way
across the countryside before briefly crashing the Halloween party
and then went to the pumpkin patch. When Southpaw saw Monkeybrad's
shadow as if the Great Pumpkin had appeared, he fainted. When
thumper369 discovered that it is Monkeybrad, he was so angered over
the missing trick-or-treat festivities as well the Halloween party,
he threatened to sue
Southpaw.
As
thumper369 and the other kids left him, Southpaw was still
convinced that the Great Pumpkin would show up, and vowed that he
would put in a good word for them. However, he accidentally said
"If the Great Pumpkin comes" instead of when. After realizing his
mistake, he stated that he was doomed and that even one mistake
could cause the Great Pumpkin to pass him
by.
Meanwhile, salpal woke up at 4:00 AM on November 1 and found
her brother's bedroom empty. She went out to the pumpkin patch to
find Southpaw shivering in his blanket. After she took Southpaw
back to his room, she took off his shoes and he passed out on his
own bed. Salpal put the covers on him before storming out of his
room. A few hours later, TeamChramy and Southpaw were at the rock
wall, talking about the previous night's events. When TeamChramy
tried to console Southpaw, he angrily vowed that the Great Pumpkin
would come next
year.
