Geocache Description:

To get to the Cache you need a good 4x4 with good tires. The road is rough and rugged.Off of the 31 road [Summit Road] go to 3116 and turn to the west. Its about 2.66 miles to the drop off spot.Stay to the right and follow out too the ridge. There is a narrow turn around spot to park. The terrain is rough.

This is a mountain that seems to like an island surrounded by deep canyons. Lots of great views. This is good bear country as well as elk and deer. On the mountain it is like a rain forest. There is a large variety of plant life, berries, trees.Huckleberries, wild strawberries, and other kinds of berries. But DO NOT eat any and all unless you know for sure what is edible and what is not. Some can cause sickness.
The cache is in a waterproof container.
Take your camera for the many views and spend time exploring. Take a loop around the perimeter of the mtn for many view points of the canyons. This would be a nice spot for a short backpacking trip. Above the cache is a small meadow that is flat and would be good for a camp site. There is a lot of wood for a campfire and is readily available.Make sure you are aware of the fire restrictions before starting a fire.
You need good hiking boots as parts of the trail are rugged. Most of the hike can be followed on a game trail. It has a well traveled 4 wheeler trail you could take, however it is steep on both sides and it is deep over the edge. Most of the walk is gradual with exception of when your last leg up to the mountain. There it is steep.I will post pictures to give you an idea what your up against.Take plenty of water with you as there may not be water nearby, even though there is a spring up there. Remember that there are parasites in water that can make you sick.So if you drink wild water take along a water purifier.
This hike can be done in just a few hours depending on your conditioning. It is about 1.3 miles depending on where you park and which trail you take.
Enjoy.........
