False Bay Scenic Walk: Halfway
Cache
This
cache is located at the approximate mid-point of the False Bay
Scenic Walk, a wonderful 7km trail in the Cape of Good Hope Nature
Reserve running from Smitswinkel Viewpoint at the northern end to
Booi se Skerm at the southern end.
It is
a well constructed trail with stunning viewpoints throughout and
although there are already several great caches along the way, I
though that a couple more would be in order! This is one of
them.
Start
at either end of the Walk and proceed to the cache, a small
cylindrical camo-container, which is hidden up in the rocky outcrop
a few metres west of the trail.
The
trail takes around 3 hours to complete at an easy steady pace
– not allowing of course for
a)
cache finding and logging activities which may take quite some
extra time to do!!
b)
stopping to admire the view, spot whales in season (approx
Sept-Nov) and take lots of photos
c)
having a nice rest break/picnic
