Vaarst Uret
Vaarst er en landsby i Himmerland med ca. 500 indbyggere beliggende 19 kilometer sydøst for Aalborg.

Foreningen Vaarst Uret har som mål i 2010 til 2012, at gøre den gamle Grusgrav til et rekreativt område med bakke, skov, stier, legeplads mv., der skal give byen et helt nyt samlingssted, som kan danne rammen om et unikt og smukt anlæg, der medvirker til øget liv, kultur, sport, leg og læring.
Vi ønsker et område der bliver andet og meget mere end en ordinær legeplads. Vi vil derfor etablere og sikre alle disse delelementer bliver en del af Vaarst Uret:
- Årstidernes Hus med el, vand og børne-/ handicapvenligt toilet (lille kulturhus)
- Amfi teater m. el og belysning
- Samlingsplads med Krolfbane
- Beach Volley bane
- 30 m svævebane
- Aktivitet- og legeplads for små, mellemstore, store børn og unge
- Træningspavilloner
- Kælkebakker for store og små børn
- Høhotel
- Shelters, raftestativ, bålsted
- Stisystem
- Udsigtspunkt m. bænk
- Planter, træer og buske der er tilpasset alle årstider
- Stenskulpturer som kunstværker, der symboliserer årstiderne og Vaarst historie
- Geocaching
Omdrejningspunktet for det rekreative område i den nedlagte grusgrav er en stor åben cirkelformet plads med en jordform omkring – et ur, der symboliserer årets tolv måneder.
Hvad vil vi og hvor:
Vi vil gerne understøtte den positive udvikling i byen og gøre Vaarst og omegn til et endnu mere attraktivt lokalområde, hvor vi i samlet flok løfter opgaven med at sikre fysisk aktivitet, fællesskab, kultur og natur/miljø for alle.
Vi ønsker med andre ord at gøre Vaarst endnu mere attraktiv for både besøgende og indbyggere ved at skabe en oase midt i byen med et spændende miljø og en god naturoplevelse.
Hertil er det oplagt at få endnu mere ud af området i og omkring den nedlagte grusgrav. Den nedlagte grusgrav er nemlig placeret centralt i byen med kort afstand til flere dagplejemødre, Børnehaven, Friskolen, SFO’en, Ungdomsklubben, Hesteklubben, boldklubben, banestien med cyklende turister og ikke mindst busforbindelserne ind og ud af byen.
Vi ønsker, at Vaarst Uret i Grusgraven fremover bliver det centrale samlingspunkt for byens
aktiviteter, og vi lægger vægt på at skabe et udviklende og inspirerende miljø, der rummer plads til både kultur-, fritids- og sportsaktiviteter. Vaarst Uret er tænkt med udgangspunkt i årstiderne - således at der skabes optimale betingelser for leg, fantasi og udvikling hele året rundt. Vaarst Uret i Grusgraven skal kunne benyttes af alle, og det er gratis.
Man skal således frit kunne booke forskellige områder af grusgraven til private arrangementer som fx sommergadefest i bålområdet eller udendørsundervisning for friskolens elever i Årstidernes Hus – et andet af Vaarst Urets afsnit.
Området skal endvidere gøres handicapvenligt, således at kørestolsbrugere kan komme omkring på den flade del af området.
Vores langsigtede mål med at etablere området er, at vi forventer at øge Vaarst og omegns fysiske aktivitetsniveau, fællesskabsfølelse, samarbejdsevne på tværs af foreninger/institutioner, kulturelle indblik og æstetiske oplevelse gennem gode fritids- og idrætsrammer.

Association Vaarst wrong aims in 2010 to 2012, making the Old Gravel Pit into a recreational area with hill, forest, trails, playground, etc.. To give the city a whole new assembly, which can provide a framework for a unique and beautiful plants that contribute to increased life, culture, sports, play and learning.
We want an area that is different and much more than an ordinary playground. We will therefore set up and secure all these building blocks are a part of Vaarst clock:
- Seasonal The house with electricity, water and children's / disabled toilets (low culture)
- Amfi theater with electric and lighting
- Assembly Square with Krolf Course
- Beach Volley runway
- 30 m cableway
- Activity and playground for small, medium, large children and adolescents
- Training Pavilions
- Toboggan hills for large and small children
- Høhotel
- Shelters, raftestativ, fireplace
- Pathways
- Viewpoint m. bench
- Plants, trees and shrubs adapted to all seasons
- Stone sculptures as works of art that symbolizes the seasons and Vaarst history
- Geocaching
Centerpiece of the recreation area in the abandoned gravel pit is a large circular open space with a land form around - a clock, symbolizing the year twelve months.
What will we and where:
We would like to support the positive development in the city and make Vaarst and surroundings to an even more attractive neighborhood where we all together promises task of ensuring physical activity, community, culture and nature / environment for all.
We want, in other words to make Vaarst even more attractive to both visitors and residents by creating an oasis in the city with an exciting environment and a good nature experience.
Furthermore, it is obvious to get even more out of the area in and around the abandoned gravel pit. The disused gravel pit is located centrally in the city with proximity to several childminders, nurseries, schools, SFO'en, Youth Club, Horse Club, BK, pave the path for cycling tourists and especially bus services in and out of town.
We want Vaarst clock in gravel pit now becomes the central hub for the city
activities, and we are committed to creating a stimulating and inspiring environment providing space for cultural, recreational and sports activities. Vaarst clock is designed based on the seasons - in order to create optimal conditions for play, imagination and development throughout the year. Vaarst clock in the gravel pit must be usable by all, and it's free.
One should be free to book their various areas of gravel pit for private events such as summer street festival in bålområdet or outdoor education for Frisko lens pupils in seasonal house - another of Vaarst clock section.
The area should also be disabled so that wheelchairs can get around on the flat part of the area.
Our long term goal of establishing the area is that we expect to increase Vaarst and suburban physical activity level, sense of community, collaborative capability across associations / institutions, cultural insight and aesthetic experience through excellent recreational and sporting environment.
