PSP 1-8 is an extreme series of caches. If done in order they will
take you in a loop. Across the trail on the point you can see a
memorial to Chris Morrison. Someone made it from a Chevy transfer
case. Cache 2-8 will require specialized equipment. You need to be
experienced at four wheeling- this is an extreme trail- rock
climbing and deep rutted mud. The caches are not to difficult to
find, it is just hard to get to them.
There is a very nice memorial on the point across the mud trail.
The guy's name is Chris Morrison and according to the Mining
Journal dated October 31, 2007, Chris Morrison used to live in the
Marquette area and died in Wisconsin in an auto accident. Someone
spent a lot of time making this memorial. The picture is getting a
little faded, but you can see a picture of the guy leaning out the
back window of his blazer. This is the most unique and one of my
favorite memorials I have ever come across. PLAYING in the SANDS
PLAINS is an extreme series of caches that will take you thru some
interesting roads. Please do not attempt if you are not experienced
at rock climbing or getting thru deep mud. This is an established
trail. REQUIRED EQUIPMENT for caches 2-8: four wheeler with winch
and aftermarket skid plate. In the 90's we used to go thru this
loop with a Blazer on 38 inch tires, not sure if this would be
possible now. You will hit large boulders hidden in the mud and
grass on the trail, thus the aftermarket skid plate requirement. At
certain times of the year the trail may be impassable. In August I
used the winch twice, a strap would not work for PSP#8. This series
will take you several hours to complete. Take food and water. Take
a buddy. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE ANOTHER TRAIL AND DO NOT CUT TREES,
this is an extreme cache series and if new trails are blazed I will
be forced to archive this whole series. Cache owner and
geocaching.com are not responsible for any personal injuries or
damage to personal vehichles. Cache is a large pill bottle 6 inches
high with log and pencil. Please bring a pencil just in case, no
signature on the log = no smiley. Pictures are welcome and
encouraged of you on the trail. Congratulations to BiHuPaWa2 on
FTF!!!
