From Sparwood BC take highway 43 to Elkford BC, continue north on the Elk Forest Service Road for approximately 63.5 kms. This is a high elevation road that is not maintained during the winter. It is unlikley that access would be available from November til June. You are looking for a 35mm film canister above ground. If the area is wet you may have to walk the last 100 meters or so to the cache.
This Recreation Site, which is user maintained, is a small partially treed site on the Elk River. Views of meadows and avalanche chutes on the surrounding mountains is breathtaking. Elk Lakes Provincial Park is a short distance away, and offers spectacular scenery and hiking trails.
