" Knock Knock " Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Weary Banker & Bookworm: Visited the site today. How sad. This used to be a lovely little wood off a country lane where Cassie could run and sniff and enjoy herself in safety. Now, it looks like the pictures that you see of battlefields after the first World War. An occasional dead-looking tree points skyward still, but one remembers the quote about survivors of a nuclear blast, ie the survivors envied the dead. Most of the trees have gone, although some , felled and trimmed, are piled by the entrance waiting to be carted away. The whole area is tree rubble under huge tyre tracks.
I couldn't get to the old cache location easily and there were workers still on site. I will return to recover the box which may have survived by being on the outer bank of the copse, although I may have to wait until work has totally finished.

This is no place for one of our caches and I am archiving it.

Geocache Description:

A Cache produced for the End of Summer 2010 Event.

A fun cache to celebrate an old style of Joke.

I wonder if you were around in the 1950s when the " Knock Knock" style of jokes became popular, especially with children. I can remember trying out jokes that I had heard at school, on my parents, but I usually managed to get the punch line wrong.

For cachers younger than us, who may have missed this form of humour, here are a few examples below but please feel free to add others to your logs. I bet your kids know some , even if you dont.

Knock Knock

Drum roll. Exit, stage left.

You are looking for an appropriately hidden ammo box but dont have any preconceived ideas.!!
