The Widdop Oil Well
After parking near GCZA01 go along the oil road for 2k to reach the point where drilling took place. Pemission was given for the bore to go down 4,000ft.
In 1963 they drilled, and drilled, until at 6,300ft they gave up. This area is the point and when I laid the cache the circles where the drill stood could still be seen - although I dont think I'd noticed them before. If you switch the map to satellite and close in you can easily see the outer one.
Please take care re-hiding the cache ( a film can within a micro) as the stones do try to roll away.
