Geocache Description:

A largeish microcache near the house in Knole Park. On the edge of a steep slope, which can be slippery but should not be dangerous for children if they are supervised. Cache sited by permission of the National Trust. A few assorted information and/or game cards are in the cache, changing regularly.

This microcache is hidden quite near the Knole car park, which is only open when the shop / tea room are. Otherwise you can park in town by the leisure centre, or in Weald Road and walk in.

It is best to get to the site by going down from above (shallow slope) rather than by climbing up from below (steep slope from a hazardous area).

Watch out for deer around here, especially in May/June, when young may be hiding in the bracken. Don't touch them: their mother may then reject them because of your scent. Similarly this is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, so as usual please keep your impact on the landscape to a minimum (I'm sure you would anyway).

I've put "attributes" on here which include things like food, toilets etc., but these are only available when the shop / restaurant are open. Check the website or give the Knole office a ring (01732 462100) if you want to be sure. There's also no pencil in the cache as it kept on disappearing.

Dogs are welcome on a lead.

Note that in late autumn / winter the slope can become slippery, so please take care during and after wet weather, particularly with children.
