The clean up will take place at Tenaja Falls in the Cleveland National Forest. We will meet at the Tenaja Trail head and carpool to the falls trail head. From the falls parking area we will hike 0.7 of a mile (7/10ths) to the waterfall. The event will take place from 8:00AM - 2:00PM on Saturday, November 6th.

I recently visited Tanaja Falls in the Cleveland National Forest and it is in desperate need of clean up.
There is trash, bottles, cans, broken glass, and graffiti all over this wonderful location.
This clean up will require the work of individuals from multiple skill levels. Along the trail and at the top of the falls there is a lot of cans and micro trash that everyone will be able to spend a lot of time picking up.
Down on the rocks and face of the waterfall there is graffiti everywhere. To remove the graffiti we will need 3-4 people that are not afraid of heights. Most of the graffiti is easily reachable just by scrambling across the rocks, However some of it will require ropes and harnesses for safety. So if anyone has climbing experience or knows someone that does, and can bring your own equipment, please come help out and bring your friends!
The Forest Service will be kind enough to supply us with trash bags, gloves, and eco-friendly graffiti remover. They will also be disposing of the trash for us.
I will bring drinks for us, but any donations of drinks, snacks, or supplies would be greatly appreciated!
We will also be raffling off some prizes! Everyone that shows up will be entered into the drawing at the end of the event!
In addition there will be prizes given away for the following:

Farthest traveled
Youngest volunteer
Oldest volunteer
The event will take place from 8:00AM - 2:00PM on Saturday, November 6th. (Or until everyone is beat)
We will be meeting at the Tenaja Trail head. It is the first parking area once you enter the park. We will be meeting here because there is plenty of parking available. We will then all carpool up to the Tenaja FALLS Trail head. There is only parking for around 8 vehicles (at the most) at the falls trail head so carpooling is important. Luckily the road is paved all the way up so any car will be able to drive straight there!
From the Tenaja Falls parking area we will hike up to the falls. The hike is 0.7 miles (7/10ths) along a well maintained trail and takes 15-30 minutes to travel. The only bath rooms are at the Tenaja Trail Head where we will first meet. (none at the falls)
The clean up will stop around 12:00PM the extra 2 hours is to give us plenty of time to hall the trash out and do the raffle.
PARKING FEES WILL BE WAIVED FOR ALL VOLUNTEERS THE DAY OF THE EVENT

Take Tenaja Rd to Cleveland Forest Rd.
Turn Right onto Cleveland Forest Rd.
Take Cleveland Forest Rd all the way to Tenaja Trail Head Parking Lot. (Cant Miss It)
If your using your GPS just navigate to:
Cleveland Forest Rd, Murrieta CA 92562
and drive down Cleveland Forest Rd until you see the Trail Head.
