Last of the Wingfield Wander Series can be done as a one off from South Wingfield or with the others in the series.
On the 8th February 1587 Elizabeth ordered the execution of Mary Queen of Scots finally freeing Bess and the Earl from their long and expensive duties.
If you park in South Wingfield you will get a wonderful view of the Manor ruins if you do the other caches Mary Queen of Scots The Earl of Shrewsury and Bess of Harwick take the time to walk a little way up the lane towards South Wingfield and look back at history.
