Ashton Park Multi
Note: The coordinates given are for the parking area & start of the trail
An easily accessible 7-stage cache which takes you around one of Preston's Parks with some interesting features along the way. It is suitable for the whole family and combines simple observation + modest physical/mental exercise - Enjoy!
To find the cache:
Park @ or near N53 45.992 W002 44.483 the parking area off Pedder's Lane
Step 1: Head for N53 45.963 W002 44.492 where you will find an old defunct iron water fountain.
In the final cache coordinates formula and using alphanumeric substitution (A=1, B=2, C=3, etc), the number value of the first letter of the surname of the manufacturer of the fountain = A
Step 2: Proceed along the path to the lamp post at N53 45.846 W002 44.469. The value of the last digit of the number of this lamp-post = B
Step 3: Next go to N53 45.912 W002 44.913 where you will be able to admire an impressively large work of art. The number of eggs of the flying creature shown on the left arm of this as you face north = C
Step 4: Onwards to N53 46.091 W002 45.006 where you will see a sign naming this small area of the park. The alphanumeric value of the 1st letter of the second word of this name = D
Step 5: Follow the path heading east now to N53 46.088 W002 44.547 where you will come across a newly constructed sweat-production and general torture area. The number of rollers on the device which you can use to run forever without reaching anywhere = E
Step 6: Now go to N53 46.112 W002 44.486 and read the commemorative plaque. The second digit of the number of trees presented (and of the anniversary of the company being celebrated) = F
Step 7: Now move to the metallic place of rest and sports observation near to the start of the Ha Ha Way @ N53 45.928 W002 44.532. The width of the seat (ie. from the front to the back) = G squares
Final: The cache, a small cylindrical grey-taped plastic tablet pot, is located a quick stroll across the park (or possibly around if too muddy after rain!) @
