Once you get to this site, you will understand why it has this name. Georgia red clay in all its glory! It is also a nod to the biblical reference to a location where Paul preached the gospel.
This is another cache in a series I am setting up along the route of the Joseph Standing Marathon which starts and ends at the Joseph Standing Memorial (near Cache GCTEBK). This walking marathon occurs on the last Saturday of October each year. It is my hope that there will be at least a dozen caches along this route in all. This is a beautiful rural area in North Georgia that we love to walk mile after mile. Many cyclists have discovered these roads as well. This cache takes you almost to the 3 mile mark of the marathon. If you wanted to take a 6 mile round trip hike you would turn around at the bottom of the hill just beyond (NW of) this cache. This is a low traffic area. The best place to park is on the shoulder on north side of the road. Thc cache is located on the other side of the road. There is no need to go down in the deep ravines near the cache.
