Where Wood Gnomes Live - Soup's Cans #6 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Walkworthy & Wife: I hate to do this as this is my first of two caches hidden in this park and I enjoyed writing some background on gnomes. I don't know if it coincidence or not but someone has taken upon themselves to place gnomes and other items along the paths of the park. I checked out the two caches two days ago and found this cache destroyed and signs of muggles as there were apples and carrots on the ground. I'm guessing they were put there to entice deer. The original cache container was destroyed and the log was lying on the ground by either the muggles or a mouse made a nest and chewed the container.

Geocache Description:

Micro hidden near my favorite walking place. This cache is an offspring of the cache Soup's Cans (GC2D652).

CONGRATULATIONS TO Geo-kats on being the FTF!!

The name "Gnome" is said to come from the Greek word “gnosis” meaning "knowledge" but is more likely to come from the word “genomus” meaning “earth-dweller”
A race of small, misshapen, dwarf-like creatures that dwell in the earth, but live in three trees, the house itself, with a hidden entrance from another tree, and then a third is the supply room, with grains, beans, potatoes and everything else the gnomes may need during the winter. The name 'gnome' was given to them by the medieval scholar Paracelcus, in an attempt to describe the most important of the earth spirits. Gnomes live under the earth, where they guard treasures. According to Paracelcus, they move as easily through the earth as humans walk upon the ground. They cannot stand the light of the sun, for even one ray would turn them to stone. Some sources claim they spend the hours during daylight as a toad. They are in some way related to goblins and dwarves. This cache is hidden a short distance off the paved trail of a local municipal park where I walk week days. Please restore the cache so other cachers can enjoy the search as well. Since this is a micro, BYOP for signing the log.

The gnomes left a small treasure for the FTF

Since this is a municipal park caching is restricted from dawn to dusk hours only.
