Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the Pike Lake Provincial Park, a 20 minute drive from the edge of Saskatoon.

Pike Lake is a recreation park characterized by aspen, poplar and Manitoba maple groves. The lake is a shallow body of water that's called an "oxbow" - it's a loop of the South Saskatchewan River that became cut off from the main channel. Stay a little longer and enjoy nature trails, a swim at the pool, a stop at the interpretive center, play a game of mini-golf, rent a canoe or kayak, or stay the night at the campground. You will require a park permit from mid-May to Labour day, otherwise access to the park is free.

The cache is a small pelican case with toys to trade. Wear good footwear and clothing as there are burrs and prickly plants along the short way. It should be an easy find, so please re-hide it well.

What is Trex? Trex is part of Girl Guides of Canada. It is an "extraordinary option" for girls aged 12-18. (No, it's not t-rex as in the dinosaur!) Girls in Trex focus on camping, outdoors, and adventure activities. Backpacking, rock climbing, kayaking, scuba diving, and cross-country skiing are just some of the things a girl in Trex might do. This cache was placed by the 1st Saskatoon Trex Unit as part of a GPS learning activity.
