Chupy 7: The Grandparents Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Zar: Geocaching is pestering me to archive this because of the date of the last find, so I'll give in and mark it as archived. Based on conversations I've had with a couple finders, it should still be in the vicinity, so if anyone comes across it, please let me know. Only one Chupy left!! (Chupy 3)

Geocache Description:

An awesome mountain trail with ocean views, to celebrate Chupy's visit to the grandparents in December of 2001.

Chupy (pronounced "chew-pee") went to visit her grandparents for the holiday season of 2001. She hinted that it would be a perfect place to hide a cache, since she doesn't get out of San Diego county much. So we put one together and hid it on the last day of 2001.

This cache is up a mountain trail with a beautiful ocean view. It also looks down upon Chupy's Grandpa's work (Pt. Mugu), so it's appropriately named.

The cache is in a green ammo box, labeled with one of those cool new geocaching stickers. Inside you'll find numerous trinkets, a camera (please take a picture of yourself or your geocaching partners), a log book, a picture of Chupy and her cousin, pens, etc. I've also seeded it with the Coastal Chupy travel bug.

Park along side of the highway and get ready for some uphill hiking. The cache is in a fairly exposed area (not for it, but for you), so anyone hiking through will definitely see you. Since this trail is quite popular, even in crummy weather, it would be best if you walked a short distance away from the cache location once you've found it. Be sure to mark the original cache location so you'll know where to put it back when you're finished.

Come visit the other Chupy caches in San Diego if you ever get a chance.
