Hoe goed kent u Brussel ? Weinig zullen volmondig ‘ja‘ zeggen, want zelf de inwoners ontdekken nog regelmatig nieuwe plekjes in onze fantastische hoofdstad waar meer pareltjes te ontdekken zijn dan Manneken Pis & het Atomium.
Het lijkt de laatste jaren dat Brussel zijn charmes verloren heeft en men er liever wegblijft… uit angst, of is er een andere reden? Langs deze reeks caches nodigen we jullie graag uit om ‘Ons Brussel’ te ontdekken, en dan zijn zeer zeker niet alleen de klassiekers. Hopelijk krijgen jullie dan een andere mooiere kijk op deze prachtige stad.
Door de vele gebouwen ( metaal & ander materiaal) kan de GPS afwijking enorm groot worden... maar geen getreur... de meeste caches spreken voor zich en zal het vinden niet een probleem worden
Het Zinneke
Deze bastaardhond staat voor het multiculturele karakter van Brussel. Het is een echt “straatbeeld” want volledig geïntegreerd in de stoep en maakt gebruik van de paal waar hij zijn poot tegen ophoudt. Het beeld werd door het Kartuizer wijkcomité besteld om toeristen aan te trekken.
Elk jaar wordt er ook een prijs uitgereikt aan een persoon die zich inzet voor Brussel. Deze krijgt een verkleind zinneke-trofee!

Many people think they know Brussels, but when you live here for a while, you start to wander around and discover more and more about this beautifull city!
Through this series of caches I try to show some more but certainly less known place of Brussels. Most of the time the cache isn't hard to find, you will have more troubbles with mugglers or deflection of your GPS.
Het Zinneke
This “dog thrown into the Senne river” is named “Zinneke” after a Flemish word meaning “mongrel”. Because he is a dog of mixed breed, he symbolises the multicultural nature of Brussels. He is a proper “street sculpture”, as he really is built-in; his legs are sealed into the pavement and the post he is peeing on had been there long before him. The post became part of the sculpture.
This sculpture, commissioned by the Chartreux district committee to attract tourists, was created in the spirit of the “zwanze”. With this dog, Frantzen offers a visual example of this form of humour to all passers-by, especially those looking for an opportunity to share something and have fun together.
Other information:
Zinneke is the name for a girl (woman) from Brussels. Ket is the nickname for male person!
Every year a person will be chosen for his dedication to Brussels and recieves a statue of 'het zinneke'
