Geocache Description:

This cache can be found after a walk through the woodland on well defined paths. The cache is located on a slope which most able bodied people could navigate. I would suggest that children are monitored if attempting this cache.

Entry to the woodland can be made at N 51° 43.294' W 005° 01.390' Parking for this point can be found on the estate on the other side of the main road, or at N 51° 43.382' W 005° 00.847' .

We would suggest that if you use this access point you park somewhere by the green ( 51 ° 43.677 ' W 005 ° 00.988' ) and have a nice walk down past the farm and into the woods.

The cache is near to Deadmans Lake . History says that at the head of Prix Pill stood Pill Castle (known locally now as 'Castle Pill'), the capture of which is recorded by Fenton: there are no remains of this fortress, but in digging near the site, about a century ago, at a place termed Cwm, a human skull with an iron ball in it was found; and a tradition is extant that a pond that was once near the spot, now called Deadman's Lake, derived its name from having been deeply tinged with the blood of the slain on that occasion. Now this is a spot for waiting for the wild life to go by. The lake or streams depending on the time of year now have boarded walk ways around the edges to help keep your feet dry.

The paths have some benches at the sides in places where the weary could if they wish stop and rest. The various paths in the woodland run off in different directions but going down will lead you to the Castle Pill and there just be wary of the state of the tide. Paths which go up will also lead to the pill but from different directions.
