Geocache Description:

Located at the County Road D Boat Landing on Lake Holcombe/Chippewa River. Minimal walking.

This is a redo of a former cache "View of St. Francis - which went missing -- may have been eaten by ants? The view, especially in the fall, is worth a second view.

Looking across the river you'll see the St. Francis of Assisi Mission Church, which was constructed in 1881 and dedicated by Father Casimir. Father Casimir directed Indian missions in the area. The cemetary east of the church has many old graves of both Indian and white men.
