Donald Duck has had a lot of trouble with Chip and Dale in the Disney cartoons, and he’s having trouble finding them now. Help Donald Duck by finding the Chip and Dale cache!
This is a multi cache, taking you on a ramble around Hartwell, and has 2 caches, the first a small box (called Chip) and the second, a large container (called Dale).
The coordinates we have given you are not to the cache, they are to the first clue.
The walk is about 2 miles on pathways, across a main road and either on public footpaths or lanes . Some could be muddy and uneven so tread carefully! You do not, at any stage, enter the grounds of Hartwell House. Parking is at your own risk at the Bugle Horn Pub(There is a sign saying customers only- you may need some refreshment when you have completed this one!) alternatively, park in Stone(perhaps in Chiltern Avenue). There could be Cows in the fields and will be some Cowpats! When replacing the cache there were even bullocks on the public footpath so be careful. The additional clues are in random order.
The coordinates we have given you are not to the cache, they are to the first clue. Here you will find something useful. Look at the engraved title, and count:
The number of L’s = A
The number of B’s = B
The number of I’s = C
Walk with great care, to:
N 5B C(2xC).B56 W000 5(B-1).(3xA)(A+C)B
Here, you will find the second clue, it’s something very old. When was it built? (fill in the year):DE55 Keep a note of these for later!
Making a mark on your GPS, from this point, walk 260 feet north. Count the Angels watching over you. This number equals F.
Now you are looking for Chip (the small cache).
Pay particular attention to footpath signs.
Here are the co-ordinates:
N 51 48.(F+1)(Dx2)(A –1) W 000 50.(F +7)(E+1)(C –4)
Chip will give you two clues:
When you have found Chip you can have a rest at a place of rest. The coordinates are…
N 51 48.G20 W 000 50.HH5
How many letters are between JSH and DRF? This number is S.
Now head for, where you will find the next clue…
N 51 48.S91 W 000 51.0S3
Count the letters after something which is not new. This number equals J.
The coordinates for the next clue are below. This will take you on a very uneven footpath so take great care.
N 51 48 .(S+1)(J-2)(S) W 000 51.S(J+1)8
Look at the numbers under the Civic Centre. The first number equals K, and the last number equals L.
Now you are looking for the final cache – Dale, he can be found at…
N 51 48.(E-F-G)(D-K+L)(H-C-K) W 000 51.(K)(F+G)(L)
This is a new location from July 2017
Please replace him carefully out of sight
Then retrace your steps back to the start point
Why not also have a go at Donald Duck Train in the garden or Donald's Hartwell Cache
If you enjoyed this cache please tell your geocaching friends. Its a nice walk but a cache that is hardly ever visited
