Our First Canoe
Cache!!!!
We headed out to A.H.
Stephens State Park on my birthday (9-11) to spend the day placing
caches. We had a great time eating at the local Bar-B-Q joint
and talking plenty of cache with a new local cacher doing a movie
series in the great little city.
We wanted to place a cache
that would be a bit more difficult than most of all the others
caches we have placed. After the canal event just a few
months before, SQRT also wanted to do a bit of canoeing that she
missed.
Well this one was a doozie
for us to place. After navigating in a zig-zag route to get
to the cache location, we finally got to the band. About the
time I put my foot on the bank, something moved in the grass.
Of course SQRT's first reaction is
"GATOR!?"
I threw a stick in the tall grass and nothing moved. So I
figured all was clear. So I grabbed my
weapon, I mean ore, and proceeded to find a good location.
SQRT got out to join me and we looked for a good place for the
cache. After hunting for about 20 minutes, we make a good
place for the cache.
