Geocache Description:

Small plastic food box, room for small trackables. Contained log book and pencil and few small items when laid.

Haggate Circle 1 series

This is a short circle with a few caches. Total length about 4 miles or 6 Km, and will take about 2 to 2.5 hours.
It is mostly on footpaths, but includes a few hundred yards of twisting, narrow road, so please beware of traffic.

Suggested parking is the “Hare and Hounds” pub\ restaurant car park at N53 48.799, W 02 11.705. Alternative parking at the Queen Street Textile Museum N53.48.613 W2 12.084. Either of these points would make a good start for the circle which can be done either clockwise or anti clockwise.

Overall terrain is up to 2.5. Not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs or strollers, but is suitable for dogs.
Just off this circle, there are some other local caches that may be found, which do not belong to the series.
Beware of slippery steps between “Sleeper Bridge” and “Windy Rise”

Please be aware between Veegate and Gate to Nowhere that you may come across a donkey in a field. This donkey has an aversion to dogs, so please keep dogs away from it.

The intention is that other circles can be added at later dates, linking with a point about half-way around the circle, thus extending the series.

Cache is right on the Burnley Way, appropriate footwear for wet long grass that can be boggy, cattle and sheep nearby - dogs on leads please. Bridge could be inclined to be slippy in wet weather.
