Geocache Description:

My first attempt at placing a cache but hopefully not my last.

This geocache is located in the Brighton State Recreation Area and offers miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horse riding. A motor vehicle permit is needed and daily permits are $6.00 for Michigan residents, $8.00 for non-residents.

Please keep in mind that all trails in the Brighton State Recreation Area pass through lands open to hunting.

The Penosha Trail runs through the southeast corner of the park and is five miles long. It is designated by blue circles. This geocache is located along some trails that connect the nearby subdivisions to the Penosha Trail. The geocache is just off one off these connecting trails and no bushwhacking is required unless you can't find the connecting trails. These same trails run further east, but run out of the park and onto private land. Best bet is to mark where you leave the main trail and backtrack.

Parking is dependent on which trailhead is used. There are multiple entry points onto the Penosha Trail. The cache is about half way between marker #9 and #10.

This geocache was placed under the agreement between the DNR and the Michigan Geocaching Organization (MiGO) which allows MiGO members to place geocaches in state parks without a permit fee.

Please trade fairly for other geocachers that follow and leave the cache as well if not better than you found it. Travel bugs and geocoins are welcome.

The container is a square, clear, Lock & Lock box with some camouflage Duck Tape strategically placed.

FTF prize is a two dollar bill stamped from Hell, MI.
