Der Multicache „Space Cow“ besteht aus 4 Stationen (Station 2 und 3 sehr nah beieinander) und einem Final.
Er erzählt die Geschichte der kleinen Kuh, die so gern zu den Sternen reisen möchte, und welcher Ort führt sie dabei näher an Ihr Ziel als die Sternenguckerinsel La Palma… :-)
Space Cow beginnt ihre Reise ins Weltall in der Zivilisation in Los Llanos und führt Euch dann weiter zu einem Observatorium, bei dem sie sich durch das Teleskop das genaue Ziel ihrer Reise ausgucken kann.
Genau das könnt Ihr übrigens auch machen.
Einmal entschieden, begibt sie sich dann ihn höhere Gefilde, und wartet momentan dort auf eine Möglichkeit, per Anhalter weiterzureisen. Sie macht auf 1.043 Höhenmetern Pause, und vielleicht nehmt Ihr sie ja weiter mit. :-)
Die Erstausstattung beinhaltet:
- den Travelbug „Space Cow“
- zwei kleine Kuh-Kerzen
- das Logbuch
Es sollen bitte nur Tauschobjekte in dem Cache abgelegt werden, die mit Kühen bzw. Rindern zu tun haben.
Aufgrund der Grösse der Box ist kein Stift enthalten, bitte bringt unbedingt einen mit.

Eines vorweg… es ist kein typischer Wandercache, sondern Ihr solltet für die Strecken zwischen den Stationen besser ein Auto verwenden. Lediglich die Strecke von Station 4 zum Final ist zum Wandern gedacht. Aber dazu später mehr.
Station 1 (Los Llanos de Aridane)

Hier kann sich die kleine Space Cow für Ihre weite Reise einkleiden. :-)
An diesen Koordinaten befindet sich nämlich ein Geschäft, das die Kuh im Namen trägt (auf Spanisch natürlich).
Hierzu gibt es übrigens ein Spoilerbild, das aber nur während der Öffnungszeiten weiterhilft. Natürlich ist der Name des Ladens auch ausserhalb dieser zu sehen.
1.) Wie viele Buchstaben hat das erste Wort des Geschäftsnamens? Die Anzahl der Buchstaben ist A.
2.) Wie viele UNTERSCHIEDLICHE Buchstaben enthält das erste Wort des Namens? Diese Anzahl ist F.
Station 2 (Tacande)

Space Cow hat auf ihrem Weg zufällig etwas entdeckt, was ihr Interesse geweckt hat. An dieser Stelle seht Ihr nämlich auf der rechten Seite etwas, das… wie sollte es anders sein :-)… mit Kühen zu tun hat. Was ist es?
7 = ein Verkehrsschild, das vor kreuzenden Kühen warnt
8 = eine Kuhweide
4 = einen Kuhstall
Die richtige Antwort auf diese Frage ergibt B.
Addiert nun zu B eins hinzu, und Ihr erhaltet direkt die nächste fehlende Zahl. (B + 1 = E).
Station 3 (Observatorio de Tacande)
Bitte parkt Euer Auto an den folgenden Koordinaten und geht zu Fuss weiter (da Ihr ab dort einem Privatweg folgen müsst, der in einer Einfahrt endet, und der Besitzer könnte sonst sauer werden):

Hier befindet sich das „Observatorio de Tacande“, eine kleine private Einrichtung von Wissenschaftlern, die dort Forschung betreiben und in ihrem professionellen Mini-Observatorium auch private Sternenbeobachtungen und Kurse anbieten. Bitte respektiert auch bei evtl. geöffnetem Tor die Privatsphäre der Hausbesitzer und betretet nicht das Gelände, denn es ist gleichzeitig ein Wohngebäude und ausser im Falle einer Terminvereinbarung nicht zu betreten!
Space Cow hatte aber einen Termin und hat sich bei einer Sternbeobachtung einen genauen Stern ausgesucht, zu dem sie gerne reisen würde und sich für den Stern Pollux als Ziel entschieden.
PS: Bei Interesse schaut unter www.astropalma.com. Wir haben 2009 eine Sternbeobachtung für zwei Personen gebucht und dabei einiges gelernt. Es war ein sehr persönlicher und spassiger Abend.
Vorerst jedoch beantwortet die folgenden Fragen:
1.) Wie viele blaue Sterne seht Ihr insgesamt auf dem Türschild des Observatorio Tacande? Teilt die Anzahl der Sterne durch 4 und Ihr erhaltet C. (Sterne : 4 = C)
2.) Wie viele Zähne hat der Hund auf dem Warnschild an dem Tor des Observatoriums? Zieht von dieser Zahl 2 ab und Ihr erhaltet D. (Zähne – 2 = D)
Nun habt Ihr alle erforderlichen Zahlen, um zu Station 4 zu gelangen…
Station 4 (Weg zu den Sternen)
Begebt Euch zu den Koordinaten

Nun seid Ihr an einer Strasse angekommen, in deren Namen ein Körperteil der Kuh genannt wird (auf Spanisch natürlich). Seht auf dem Strassenschild, um welches Körperteil geht es (auf Deutsch). Die richtige Antwort ist die Ziffer, die Euch für H noch fehlt.
6 = Kopf
7 = Schwanz
1 = Horn
Addiert nun zu H noch eins hinzu, und schon habt Ihr G und könnt Euch auf den Weg zum Final begeben.
(H + 1 = G).
Final (Space Cow)

Space Cow wartet auf Euch auf 1.043 Metern über dem Meer und hat einen schönen Blick ins Tal und auf die Berge.
Bitte beachtet:
Falls Ihr ein geländegängiges Fahrzeug habt (und damit meine ich keinen Opel Corsa, der trotzdem über Pisten geprügelt wird, weil es ja nur ein Mietwagen ist… ;-O), könnt Ihr aus dem Final einen Drive In machen.
Falls Ihr kein Fahrzeug habt, das legalerweise unbefestigte Strassen befahren darf, parkt bitte an den folgenden Koordinaten und wandert den Rest des Weges, denn nur bis kurz nach dieser Stelle ist der Weg asphaltiert:

Wir wissen, dass diese Koordinaten ein möglicher Hinweis auf die etwaige Umgebung ist, in der Cache liegt, aber Sicherheit geht einfach vor, und wenn Ihr schlau seid, verderbt Ihr Euch nicht selbst den Spass. ;-)
Zwei Linkskurven hinter diesen Parkkoordinaten wird aus der Strasse nämlich eine steinige Piste. Es gibt dann auch noch ein zwei Parkmöglichkeiten, aber die genannte ist die sicherste.
Anschliessend könnt Ihr z.B. Eure Wanderung bis zum Mirador Llanos del Jable fortsetzen (dort erwartet Euch ein astronomischer Informationspunkt, sowie in der Nähe auch unser anderer Cache „Amor del Jable“ :-)) oder auf einem anderen Weg z.B. die Coladas de San Juan (Lavastrom des San Juan) bewundern.
Als Alternative bietet sich auch die umgekehrte Richtung an, sprich NICHT der Strasse bergauf folgen, sondern über die Hauptstrassen anders herum zum Mirador Llanos del Jable fahren und von dort an abwärts zum Cache wandern.

Once decided, she goes on travelling higher and higher on the island, and now she is waiting for an opportunity to hitchhike with you. Currently she takes a break in 1.043 meters over sea level, and maybe you will take her with you?? :_)

Here, little space cow can clothe herself fort the long voyage. ?
That is to say, at these coordinates you will find a shop which has the cow in its name (surely in Spanish language!).
By the way for this station I have uploaded a spoiler image, but this only helps during opening hours. The name of the shop is surely visible all the time, also when the shop is closed.

Station 2 (Tacande)

Space Cow has discovered something on her way, that awakened her interest. This is to say, at this place you will see something on the right side, that has to do with cows. What is it?
7 = a traffic sign that gives you warning of crossing cattle
8 = a cow paddock (grazing land)
4 = a cowhouse
The correct answer gives you the figure for B.
Now add 1 to B, and you will have the next missing digit: B + 1 = E.
Station 3 (Observatorio de Tacande)
Please park your car at the following coordinates and continue by foot (because from this parking place on you will follow a small unhitched patch which ends in a road which ends in a private gateway (blind alley!!) and nobody should disturb the owners):

Here you will find the „Observatorio de Tacance“, a small private facility by scientists who make researches from there and who also provide learning and star watching sessions in their professional mini-observatory..
Please – also in case of open gate – do not enter the ground without permission (respectively fixed date), to protect the owners privacy!
But Space Cow had a fixed date at the observatory and – during a star watching session – picked out the star POLLUX as goal for her trip,

In 2009 we joined such a star watching night for us two only.. we learnt a lot and had fun!
But first, please answer the following questions:
1.) How many blue stars do you see on the name/door plate of the Observatory Tacance?
Divide the quantity/number of the blue stars by 4 and you will get C (stars / 4 = C).
2.) How many teeth does the watchdog show on the warning sign at the observatory gate? Subtract 2 from the number of theeth and you will get D (teeth – 2 = D).
Now you have all required digits to go to station 4…
Station 4 (Way to the stars)

Now you have arrived at a road that has a body part of a cow in its name (surely in Spanish language ? ). On the road sign you can see which part of the body is requested (in Englisch).
The correct answer gives you the digit for H.

Space Cow is waiting for you on 1.043 metres above sea level and has a nice view into the valley and towards the mountains.
Please note:
If you have a all-terrain car (and I DON´T mean a poor compact car which you simply maybe use to bounce over earth roads, because it´s “just a rental car”!), you can make it a drive-in.
If you don´t have a car that´s allowed to legally drive non-bituminized streets, please park your car at the following coordinates and hike the way, because very shortly after this point the asphalt street becomes a gravel road.

After having logged the cache you can – for example - go on hiking to the Mirador Llanos del Jable (where you will find an astronomical information platform, as well as very nearby, our other cache “Amor del Jable”. Or e.g. you can hike to the Coladas de San Juan (stream of lava).
As an alternative you can also go the reversed way... so NOT follow the road upwards to the cache, but drive (on the main roads through El Paso and in direction of El Pilar) directly to the Mirador Llanos del Jable, which is (some hundreds of metres) above the cache location, and hike downwards to the cache.
PLEASE TAKE CARE AT THE CACHE LOCATION AND DON´T CLIMB. SOME METRES AWAY FROM THE CACHE THERE IS AN ABYSS WHICH IS REALLY DEEP!!
And greetings to little Space Cow. ? Maybe she can travel with you, she is looking for other caches more than 1.000 metres above sea level. Surely not only on La Palma. ;-)
