Geocache Description:

Nice easy cache in a very picturesque setting. With a stile at either approach and a rather grassy field to cross this one is probably not suitable for buggies or wheelchairs. Depending on your starting point this can be a 10 minute cache and dash or a nice 40 minute stroll. If you want to make a day of it why not combine it with several nearby caches.

Midford is a beautiful village and strangely full of bridges and you can encounter a few whilst looking for this cache either walking over or under some or even taking in a broken one.

Carving through the centre of Midford itself is the babbling Midford Brook an ideal spot for a bit of fly fishing as long as you are a member of the The Avon and Tributaries Angling Association (ATAA) and also the setting for this cache.

If you're lucky you will see some 'fly fishing' whilst looking for this cache but remember to be quiet and don't upset the 'anglers'.

You are looking for a small camouflage clip lock box big enough for small swaps, TB's and Geocoins.

First three people to find this one get a fishing rod and two fish!!!!

This can be done as a cache and dash just take your pick from some of the parking locations given. I would give the pub car park a miss unless you're planning to visit it as I note it is now for patrons only and has a CCTV and clamping operation in full swing.

I prefer to make a little walk of it so my preferred parking location is at N51° 20.876, W002°20.641 then follow the cycle path to the pub car park and set off from there.

You can approach this cache from two directions I prefer to approach from the waypoint listed footpath start (N51° 20.640, W002°20.470). By going this way you can take in the remnants of an old mill and watch the tumbling water that once powered it. Just be careful of the busy road that leads to the footpath there are paths but you will need to cross it.

If you choose to continue across the meadow you can walk back to the road that leads to Twinhoe and take in yet more bridges!!! Turning right will take you back to the pub.

There are some great caches nearby especially Midford Series 1: Old King Coal Canal Again (GC1BZ4X) where you can discover even more bridges!!! So if you haven't already found them make a day of it.

Count how many bridges you encounter whilst in Midford the number is quite staggering for such a small place.
