As part of their F.E.R.C. permit, Broofield Power provides public access a number of places along the Hudson River, above and below each of their dams.
This launch and picnic area is above the Spier Falls Dam and across the road from a state park trail head.
If you paddle north west from the launch you soon round a point and find yourself on a beautiful stretch of river from which you can't see any evidence of civilization...no road, no house, not even a power line.
Enjoy the area and don't forget to look for the cache. It's a film can.
