Geocache Description:

A hiking/climbing cache that leads you into the spectacular region of the Southern Carnic Alps.

Zuc dal Bor

This cache leads you up on top of the impressing Zuc dal Bor (2195m). Many years ago there was a via ferrata to get to the top but it was destroyed by an earthquake. Now you have to climb to reach the top.

You have to be able to climb in grade III and you must not be afraid of height to reach the top. Without climbing gear you can get as far as 30 meters below the summit, but the last part is the most difficult one.
Even before the last bit there are some short sections that require easy climbing. The path leads all along the ridge so you have to be able to keep your balance.

You can make a day trip to the summit but it is definitely nicer to spend a night at the comfortable Bivaco G. Bianchi and also explore some other mountains in the region.

We took the following route that I can recommend as a very beautiful one:
Day 1 (starting at noon): Valle d'Alba - Bivaco G. Bianchi - Zuc dal Bor - Bivaco
Day 2 : Bivaco - Chiavals - Cima die Pecora - Creta dai Rusei - Valle d'Alba
This tour is also very suitable for people driving from further away as you can start the tour around noon and finish it the next day in the early afternoon so there is also enough time for driving.

If you come at the right time of the year you will be rewarded by lots of edelweiss everywhere!

The Cache

The cache is a jam jar and the hiding place is easy. To be on the safe side you can use the spoiler.
The cache contains a log book but please bring a pen.
