Located just east of Canada Olympic Park, the forested Paskapoo Slopes offer some excellent views of the Bow River Valley and the prairies beyond.
Walk along obvious trails until you spot a rather unusual fence. The cache is a few metres off the trail, but no real bushwhacking is required.
You're looking for a camouflaged, sandwich-sized Lock & Lock container.
Congratulations to KinderKen for being the first to find this cache!
Rising 155 metres above the Trans-Canada Highway, the magnificent Paskapoo Slopes greet Calgary visitors arriving from the west.
This escarpment is carved by several steep ravines and is mostly covered by Aspens and Balsam Poplars with a dense undercover of Dogwoods and Riverine Tall Shrub communities.
The slopes are part of a natural wildlife corridor, so watch for deer and coyotes.
Some 3,000 years ago, First Nations people used the cliffs to trap bison. Archaeologists have identified 49 individual prehistoric sites.
Enjoy this unique area of our city.
This cache was created in collaboration with The City of Calgary Parks for their Parks 100 celebrations in 2010. The City of Calgary Parks thanks all the cachers who placed, maintained, and visited the Parks 100 caches in our parks.
