Kleinobir
Der
Kleinobir (1948m) ist ein eher selten besuchter Berg der
Karawanken “im Schatten des großen Bruders” Hochobir.
Ich finde es ist trotzdem oder gerade deswegen an der Zeit, ihn mit
einem Cache aufzuwerten. In Kombination mit dem kürzlich gelegten
Cache
“Maria im Fels” wird es vielleicht in nächster Zeit
einige Einträge im neuen Gipfelbuch beim neuen Gipfelkreuz (Ende
Juli 2010) geben. Wenn man also Ruhe sucht ist man hier richtig und
kann bei entsprechender Witterung eine tolle Aussicht genießen. Im
Sommer wird es sich kaum vermeiden lassen, mit Exkrementen von
Schafen in Kontakt zu kommen.

Freibach Stausee - Jagoutzsattel - Kleinobir
Bis zum Jagoutzsattel siehe die Beschreibung von
“Maria im Fels”. Am Jagoutzsattel knapp oberhalb
der Jagoutzhütte geht es links hinauf zum Kleinobir, rechts
befindet sich ein Holzkreuz. Bei einem blau markierten Baum am
oberen Ende der Wiese rechts abbiegen, der weitere Weg zum Gipfel
ist ebenfalls blau markiert. Diese Variante bietet etwa 1200
Höhenmeter.
Parkmöglichkeit: am südlichen Ende vom Freibach
Stausee, breite Einfahrt schräg gegenüber einem alten Holzhaus.
Dort beginnt auch der markierte Weg.

Wildensteiner Wasserfall - Hoffmannshütte - Jagoutzsattel -
Kleinobir
Dieser Weg ist etwas länger als bei Variante 1 und bis zum
Jagoutzsattel durchgehend rot-weiß-rot markiert. Ein Abstecher zu
“Maria im Fels” erhöht die etwa 1450 Höhenmeter dieser
Variante um weitere ca. 250 Höhenmeter.
Parkmöglichkeit: beim stillgelegten Sägewerk Planteu
in Wildenstein.

Noch nicht genug: auf den Hochobir über den Nordwestgrat
Wer noch Reserven hat und auch den durch den Hochobir verdeckten
Aussichtsteil erkunden will ist eingeladen, am Rückweg vom
Kleinobir das Holzkreuz am Jagoutzsattel anzupeilen und dort dem
mit roten Punkten markierten Jagdsteig zu folgen, um nach etwa 450
Höhenmeter auf der “falschen” Seite beim Gipfelkreuz
vom Hochobir anzukommen und von eventuell anwesenden Muggels
erstaunte Blicke zu ernten.
Dieser Steig ist nur bei Trockenheit zu empfehlen, und auch nur
bergauf - es gibt einige erdige steile Stellen!!! Terrain 4 bis
5!
Als Rückweg kann man zur Eisenkappler Hütte absteigen und
hoffen, am dortigen Parkplatz eine Mitfahrgelegenheit ins Tal zu
finden - während der üblichen Wandersaison sollte dies kein Problem
sein.
Wer dieses Risiko nicht eingehen will und vom Wasserfall
gekommen ist, kann auf der Seealpe bei einer Wegkreuzung links
abbiegen und dem markierten Weg zurück zum Wasserfall folgen. Man
trifft in der Nähe der Hoffmannsalpe auf den Aufstiegsweg vom
Wildensteiner Wasserfall zum Kleinobir.
Wer vom Freibach Stausee gekommen ist kann bei der Ruine des
Rainer Schutzhauses (100 Höhenmeter unter dem Gipfel) rechts
abzweigen und am markierten Weg zum Schaidasattel gelangen. Dort
gibt es (zumindest während der üblichen Wandersaison) auch einen
stark frequentierten Parkplatz (Mitfahrgelegenheit) - oder im
schlimmsten Fall einen etwa 6 km langen Hatscher zum Auto.
Abhängig vom Ausgangspunkt kann man noch
Hochobir - 2142m und
Obir Alm mitnehmen.

Der Cache (Lock&Lock Dose, 700 ml) befindet sich etwas mehr
als 20 m vom Gipfelkreuz entfernt unter einem auffälligen
Steinhaufen am Beginn des kleinen Abhangs.

Kleinobir
Kleinobir (1948m) is a mountain in Karawanken which is visited
very seldom because of its big brother Hochobir which is more
famous. Therefore I decided to place a cache. Since the end of July
2010, there is a new cross at the summit. When the weather is fine,
you have a nice view. You can combine this cache with
“Maria im Fels”. In Summer you will find excrement
from sheeps.

Freibach Stausee - Jagoutzsattel - Kleinobir
To find Jagoutzsattel see description of cache
“Maria im Fels”. Arrived at Jagoutzsattel you have
to turn left, on the right hand side you can see a cross of wood.
At the upper border of the meadow there is a tree with a blue mark
- turn right here and follow the blue marked hiking trail to the
summit of Kleinobir. This variant enables you to overcome a
difference of altitude of approximately 1200 meter.
Parking: at the south end of Freibach Stausee, wide
slip road opposite of an old timber house. Here also starts the
marked hiking trail.

Wildensteiner Wasserfall - Hoffmannshuette - Jagoutzsattel -
Kleinobir
This trail takes more time then variant 1 and is marked till
Jagoutzsattel with red-white-red signs . A side trip to
“Maria im Fels” will increase the difference of
altitude from about 1450 meter to approximately 1700 meter.
Parking: at the inoperative sawmill Planteu in
Wildenstein.

Still not enough: to Hochobir across Nordwestgrat
Back at Jagoutzsattel go to the cross of wood and follow the trail
marked with red dots. The additional difference of altitude is
approximately 450 meter when you arrive at the summit of Hochobir.
I recommend to use this trail only uphill and only when the terrain
is not wet!!! Terrain 4 to 5!
For the way back you can walk to Eisenkappler Huette. During
common hiking season it should be no problem to catch a lift to
your parking place.
If you do not want to take this risk you can also hike back to
Wildensteiner Wasserfall. At Seetaler Alpe turn to the left and
follow the trial to Wildensteiner Wasserfall. Nearby Hoffmannsalpe
you reach the place where you turned to the right at the morning to
arrive at Jagoutzsattel.
If you park at Freibach Stausee turn to the right at the ruin of
Rainer Schutzhaus to follow the marked trail to Schaidasattel.
There is also a parking area and during common hiking season it
should be no problem to catch a lift to your parking place. In
worst case you have to hike additional 6 km back to your car.
Depending on your parking place you can also visit
Hochobir - 2142m and
Obir Alm.

You will find the cache (Lock&Lock box, 700 ml) at a
distance of about 20 m from the cross. The box is placed under a
noticeable pile of stones at the beginning of a little slope.
