Pope John Paul II visited Puerto Rico in 1984 and spoke in front of over 650,000 people gathered in the grounds close to the biggest mall in Puerto Rico. As an island that is mainly Catholic, the visit of the highest authority in the church was a big event and it is still remembered by those that were alive to experience it (I wasn't born yet).
The mall's administration decided to create a monument to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of this Pope's visit to Puerto Rico. Created in 2009 the monument consists of a life-sized statue, a plaque and a garden. According to the security guard there are motion sensors close to the statue, and when people visit the monument an excerpt of the speech given by the Pope can be heard (this was not working when I hid the cache, so let me know in the logs if you actually hear it).
I decided to hide a cache here because lately I've been mentioning to people that there's a statue of the Pope here and nobody seems to have noticed. You are looking for a small, orange plastic pill container hidden somewhere in the corner. Please park safely in the mall's lot. There are security guards in the mall, but most of them keep away from the area. Stealth is a must as this is an area with high muggle traffic all day.
About the name: Habemus Papam! ("We Have a Pope!") is the announcement given in Latin by the senior Cardinal Deacon upon the election of a new pope. The announcement is given from the central balcony of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. After the announcement, the new pope is presented to the people and he gives his first Urbi et Orbi blessing.
