Geocache Description:

I am a Geocaching Merit Badge Councilor as well as a Tiger Den Leader with Pack 73 and an ASM with Troop 73. I invite all scouts, families, and cachers to come learn and teach the basics of our hobby.

Coords will put you on the road that leads to parking, right off Glenside Ave. We will meet in the picnic area before moving off into the woods. EVENT BEGINS AT 11:00AM

Cachers, please bring your GPSr and perhaps a container of some type so we can teach the scouts and youngsters about different types of hides. I will also cover longitude/ latitude, conversions, first aid, and many of the requirements for the merit badge. I welcome assistance in showing how to use a GPSr, and we will find a few of the different caches in the area.
I welcome all to bring bugs and coins so we can explain how tracking works.
Finally, I believe we can fit in a hide close by and launch a BSA travel bug.
Cachers, please log a note with your intentions on attendance so I can get an idea of how much help to expect.
I expect the event to end by 1:30pm. Bring your own lunch.

http://scoutingmag.typepad.com/files/geocaching_mb.pdf has the Geocaching merit badge requirements. I will bring blue cards..

I have just learned that much of what we will be covering will qualify for the Hi Tech Hide and Seek IP for the Girl Scouts. Another reason to attend!
