This cache is a small round black screw top container, big enough for small travel bugs and swap items, although part of the camo series this is a traditional box cache.
When initially placed this cache contained the Penfolio’s 2000 Finds Geocoin (SGV3HI).
Thank you to Sheffield Council for their permission to place these caches within the local reserves.
MAP’s Camo Animal Trail is a series of 14 caches, hidden together by Hulababy and the.gillinghams, along with the three little girls we have between us. We wanted to set out a child friendly geocache trail in a couple of our favourite parks. The series can be attempted in any order as there are many entrance points to the parks.
All caches are accessible by most of the family, once they are walking. Unless you have an off roader I wouldn’t attempt it with a pushchair. Similarly the cache locations are not wheelchair friendly as they are generally off the main footpaths.
Dogs are welcome in the parks. Just remember to be a responsible owner and clean after your dog as this is intended to be a child safe route.
If you are hungry or thirsty during your trail there is a café within Endcliffe park as well as sandwich shop on Rustlings Road. You are also not far from Ecclesall Road which offers many places to eat and drink.
There is limited parking within Endcliffe Park itself. However, there are also lots of on road parking spaces alongside the parks. Please be courteous to residents living nearby.
The parks are accessible by public transport and there is a bus stop right outside Endcliffe Park.
MAP refer to the initial letters of the three little girl’s names who helped plan and lay out the cache trail.
The series is called an Animal Trail because the girls chose to name each of the caches with an animal’s name. Each cache is labelled with its animal name and has a photo sticker stuck to the bottom of the cache – to help remind you which you have just found. Please leave the sticker in place, thanks.
On first being placed each cache contained:
• Log book and pencil, inside a small plastic bag
• FTF key ring bearing the name and photo of the animal cache you have found
• Child friendly swaps inc Silly Bandz, GoGo Crazy Bones stickers, water bombs, and other small toys.
If removing an item please remember to replace it with another child friend/safe swap item.
