Clostridium tetani Traditional Cache
lightmann: Wow! The rusty hulk is gone. And so is the cache. I found the cache lid laying there and now that the junker car is gone someone has come in and dumped a couple of appliances ----- great. Well, that's it for this cache, now to start looking for another rusty metal heap so I can do it again.

Near a rusty old junker approx. 600 feet off Lower Crab Creek Rd. Unathourized vehicles not allowed down the side road. Easy walk in.
Finally! I found a rusty old junker in my geocaching travels to serve as the subject for this geocache.
Clostridium tetani you say?......what the heck is that?
It's the bacterium more commonly called tetanus. It's often found on dirty rusty pieces of metal and other objects that have been in contact with the soil.
Tetanus bacteria live in soil. If at some point they are transferred to an open wound then a person may contract what is known as "lockjaw." So it's not just rusty metal that people contract the disease from.....it can be anything that's been in contact with the soil. You don't want it -- believe me. People in third world countries die miserable deaths from tetanus poisoning all of the time.
At this point I could go into a lengthy discussion about neurotoxins, neurotransmitters, systemic muscle spasms -- but I won't. Mainly because I don't understand it all that well myself.
Lockjaw is more rare in North America due to vaccinations.
So the point of this cache (besides finding it) is to remind geocachers to KEEP YOUR TETANUS SHOTS UP TO DATE! A booster shot once every ten years is recommended.
Since geocachers play around out in the boonies we are at higher risk of puncture wounds, cuts, abrasions and scratches. If you sustain a deep cut that hurts or becomes red and you don't know when your last tetanus shot was -- get to the doctor and get a tetanus booster shot.
You can thank lightmann and this cache for saving your life later ;-j
Container is a small thick glass jar with a white plastic cap. Shouldn't be too hard to find.
All of that aside -- any guesses on what kind of car that is/was?
Because I have no idea.
