This cache has been archived.

LadyCache: Had a great time with all those who attended. Time to archive this so it doesn't show up on pocket queries. How many times have you looked for an event that wasn't there? Yep, I have and THEN read the description to find out that nothing is acutally there! Until 111111.......say that fast for 11 times whew!

Geocache Description:

Looking for someone to be the official photographer.

Sometimes the wonderful world of Geocaching can temporally take
over our lives and it is quite easy to forget that it's meant to be fun and recreational
We sometimes forget that it is just a game.

Well this flash mob is just the Medicine you need!
You will have a laugh, you may even be laughed at.
But that's OK, At the end of the 10 minutes and 10 seconds
you will leave with a smile on your face.

We spend our whole geocaching careers, trying to avoid
the "Muggles"
Today, we will do the opposite, and see if we can attract a few.
Come wearing your muggle-proofed geo-gear.
The dash will convene at the listed coords at the listed time but while everyone is approaching and waiting for the appointed time, please appear to be doing work in the area or on a construction crew.

So what is a Flash Mob you ask.

Well it is a bunch of people, whom on command, form a mob
at a designates location, to do something a bit silly or out of the ordinary
at a designated time, for a specific amount of time
then just as they arrived out of nowhere, they depart just the same way.

SO

On October 10th, 2010 (10-10-10)
in the 10th year of Geocaching
From 10:10.10 am for 10 minutes, 10 seconds
You can be part of this rare event
You will also be participating in one
of the many 10-10-10 events taking
place world wide.

Itinerary for this event.

What:
A 10 minute and 10 second flash mob
Where
Heartland Park
When:
From Exactly 10:10.10 am for ten minutes and 10 seconds
on October 10th, 2010

Here is how it will work.

You will arrive NEAR GZ, but not at GZ sometime before 10:10.10 am.
Please do not approach GZ until I give the signal.
Wander around, and blend in,
look like you are working...

Now pay close attention to the following times.

10:10.10 am SHARP
By my watch, I will be at GZ,

I will place an ammo can at my feet.
I will give 1 long blow on a whistle.
As fast as you can, and as loud as you can rush to GZ.
Grab an attendance card and a treat from the ammo can.
This is your official log in for the event.

10:12 am
Print your caching name on your ticket
Meet and greet, yes most of us will already know
everyone at the event, but take this opportunity to shake everyone's hand
Yep, introduce your self to every-one, and shake hands
even if you have been friends for a long time.
That should raise a few eyebrows and get a few chuckles

10:14 am
A blow of the whistle
I will ask everyone to place your tickets into the ammo can.
Timing is everything, and the mass confusion will be hilarious.

10:16 am
A whistle blow and start the TB trading

10:18 am
Event Photo
I will yell PHOTO
Move together between the two flag poles,
Look at the camera and pose quickly
We only have 2 minutes get this done.
Be creative, be silly and have fun with it.

10:20.20 am
I will give a 3 quick blasts of the whistle.
At this time, I will remove the ammo can and leave.

Immediately depart the area.
Don't look back!!

So how can you make this event successful
Here are some tips.

Sign up early on the cache page
Please let me know how many will be attending

Bring everyone you can drag out.

Bring a pen or pencil, if you do not have a ticket in the Ammo Can by
10:14 am, you can not log this event.

Bring a coin or TB to share or trade

Smile and laugh a lot, it will drive the muggles crazy LOL

We want to see how many geocachers can go Geocaching on a single day!

We've chosen 10-10-10, since the date represents 10 years of geocaching and 10 years of Groundspeak in 2010.

Let's see if we can beat the previous record of 56,654 accounts logging on April 18, 2010. Even one log counts since we are counting how many accounts log a cache rather than the number of caches logged.
