Meadow River Bend Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

ScienceCacher: Since I am seldom in the area, I am less able to maintain this cache so I will archive it. I really like this area around Rainelle and when I was working in this area a couple days each month I could take care of the Greenbrier County caches.
Hopefully someone local will place more caches in the area.

Geocache Description:

This cache is placed at the Meadow River Community Park near Rainelle, WV.

The Meadow River Community Park is a beautiful area that combines a family oriented picnic area and a nature preserve with wetland plants. The park is in a large bend in the Meadow River between Rainelle and Charmco in Greenbrier County, WV.

Plans are in place to plant hybrid chestnut trees that are much like the trees that were dominant in the area until a blight destroyed the population. The hybrid trees are resistant to the blight.

This cache is a 4 by 6 inch Lock & Lock container that is well camoed. Since it is hoped that this area will have a lot of visitors, cachers are asked to use stealth when hunting and to hide the cache well after signing the log. The original cache contents are a variety of toys, and a couple of geocoins.

The cache may be handicap accessible in good weather but since the ground near the hide may be soft after heavy rain, the handicap attribute is not included.

This cache is placed with the permission of the Meadow River Watershed Association who oversees this park.
