Geocache Description:

This cache is located in a beautiful Provincial Picnic Park in Tidnish, another one of my favorite places. I often visit this park as my family has a cottage not 5 minutes walk from the cache site. The cache is located off a walking trail that used to be the access road to the nearby cottages prior to the Park's existance. There is also an old well nearby that was used by many of the nearby cottagers years ago.

If you were to continue further up the trail you will come to the old cottages constructed at the time of the Cignecto Marine Transport Railway. The first was built for Henry Ketchum, the founder of the ship railway, and the second for the crewman who would work at the nearby docks. These cottages are now privately owned and rented during the summer, so I would ask that you not continue past the end of the wooded trail out of respect for the users.

You can learn more about the Ship Railway by visiting Argus2's cache page (GC8C36) by clicking the link above. Enjoy!!
