This cache has been archived.

MadMin: As it seems that this cache is missing or beyond repair, and the cache owner hasn't responded to repeated DNF/Needs Maintenance logs, I'm archiving this listing.

Loch Cache, please contact me at ma.reviewer@gmail.com with the GC# of this cache in the subject line if you have any questions or would like to see about having this cache reinstated.

Geocache Description:

Here is a puzzle cache that was place to coincide with the celebration of 10 years of geocaching in Massachusetts. In addition to this puzzle we had an event on 10-1-10 at First Mass as well as created a geocoin to celebrate the day and the cache. I hope you had a chance to attend the event or get a coin. Here’s to the next ten years.

Anything I type here will be subject of misinterpretation. Suffice it to say the puzzle to find the starting coordinates for this multi stage puzzle is not here. What is here are some projections that will get you from stage to stage and eventually the final.

I won’t tell you how many stages you are in 4, just there are more than 2 and less than 28. Be ware, 2 of them are harder than the other and yet they are all similar. So to that end I give you these 10 projections along with some random letters:

  • L = 1203 at 266.5
  • C =  745 at  73.5
  • O =  886 at  89.5
  • H =  487 at 191.5
  • E =  375 at 333
  • I =   520 at  21
  • R =  639 at 328
  • P =  225 at 225
  • J = 1064 at  90
  • A =  726 at  86

The first 7 letters are a scrambled name, but don’t pay attention to that. Once you figure out the starting point/projection head out into the Horn Pond area and find stage 1. (A small black container.) There you will find one of the above 10 letters. Use the associated projection to get to stage 2. Again, there you will find one of the above 10 letters and you will use the associated projection to get to the next stage. Keep going until you get to the final.

Good luck and good caching,

Loch Cache

PS. No hints and no geochecker to keep this a difficulty 4. After all, to use a coined phrase:
“It is a Loch Cache puzzle after all.”
