Geocache Description:

Looking down Francis Line, with Golden Elms on either side.

Information

This cache is situated near the intersection of Hughes Line and Francis Line southwest of Masterton, in a large 9km x 7km area of land surrounded by SH2 at the northwest, Park Rd to the Southwest, Waingawa river on the northeast, and the Ruamahanga river down to the southeast.

Arriving at the T-Junction, and looking southeast down Francis Line, you will see an avenue of 45 mature Golden Elms (Ulmus × hollandica 'Wredei') running parallel to the road for 2.7 kilometres. An extra 19 can also be seen close to the intersection alongside Hughes Line.

During spring, the Elms produce a lime-green flower, and by mid-summer, are a brilliant yellow.

If you are approaching from the north along Hughes line, it is of note that you will pass through the the 41st line of southern latitude, and the cache is only a 1/4 minute from there.

The cache is a 100ml screw-top pill bottle.
Please rehide as found.
