Geocache Description:

This cache can be found on its own but it is intended to be done as part of a 6 mile circular walk consisting of 18 caches. There is a clue on the logbook, which you will need along with 14 others to find the co-ordinates for the bonus cache. Please read cache #1 for a full description of this walk.

Follow the footpath signs through the quarry but be careful this will take you over the railway line which is in use, keep dogs and children close! Cross over the disused lock and follow the path along the river to your right..

THE MEDWAY

The river you are following is the river Medway that flows largely through Kent with a flow-length of almost 70 miles, beginning from inside the border of West Sussex and then entering the Thames Estuary. East Peckham has seen extensive flooding over the centuries from this river. My mum has told me stories of the major floods in 1968, she thought it was great going through the village in a boat! A flood barrier near Leigh was built in 1981 to protect the Tonbridge area from flooding. Kent is divided into West Kent and East Kent by the River Medway. Residents east of the Medway are known as 'Men of Kent' those from west are known as 'Kentish Men'
The lock you crossed is the disused stoneham lock

The cache Is a 35mm film container containing a log book with a clue for the bonus cache. Please bring your own pen
