On the Way to Somewhere Traditional Cache

This cache is temporarily unavailable.

Greatland Reviewer: Hello cavyguy:

I have been going through caches that have multiple "DNF" (did not find) logs, which is often a sign that a cache is missing. Generally cachers avoid hunting a cache with many DNF logs, so it is a good idea for the Cache Owner to check the cache and either replace it or post a log to the cache page to tell fellow geocachers that the cache is still there, but they might need new eyeglasses. No action by the Cache Owner may result in a cache being archived to keep the cache from appearing in local Pocket Queries.

Please reenable the cache page after you have maintained your cache. To reenable the cache, go to the cache from your Account page on GC.com. Under "Admin Tools" in the upper right-hand corner, click "Enable," write your note and click "Submit log entry."

Groundspeak acknowledges that COVID-19 restrictions may preclude timely cache maintenance, so as long as a Cache Owner provides periodic updates via "Note Logs" written to the cache page, the cache will not get archived.

I hope 2022 is happy, healthy, and safe for you and yours.

Geocache Description:

The cache is located along the powerline trail. There isn't any room for swag or trackables! BYOP

This is such a nice area to hike, bike, or Ski depending on the type of cache
The Powerline trail going south from Glen Alps provides low-difficulty hiking/biking and beautiful vistas. There is less than 1000 feet of elevation from the parking to just below the Pass in the south at the headwaters for the South Fork (a little over six miles one-way). There are many other caches in the area. . It is my hope that with the increased concentration, many more will enjoy this easy passage. The other wonderful thing about this route is that is can be the starting point to other, more challenging hikes and climbs … eastern approach to Flat Top and Mahogany Ridge; the back way into Rabbit Lake; the transit to Indian; and the peaks and valleys surrounding Anchorage to the southeast (Williwa, O’Malley, etc.) Some of the caches out here are dying for visitors!

This cache is placed under Chugach State Park Permit #09-076.
