With Fall quickly approaching I thought it would be fun to place a cache with Halloween in mind. Please remember this cache is intended to be fun. During the month of October the area surrounding the cache will be decorated in spooky fashion.

The story begins,….
A young local couple who lived in the nearby town of Stevenson, had decided to go for a drive up in the woods. They had no reason to believe this drive would be any different than the previous afternoons they had spent together. They often went on drives to explore the wooded areas nearby. However,…this day would end differently. The young couple never returned to their home. They were never seen again. The police investigated, but they could never explain what happened to the missing couple.
I am however, a local in the area and because I have lived here a great many years I have heard and know the true story of “The Haunted Hallows”.
The year was 1923. The Schiller family had moved into the woods above Stevenson and had built a cabin for their family. They were a happy family that worked hard and lived off the land. Shortly after constructing their cabin, an old woman came to their home with a warning. She told them about the woods they were living in and how they were cursed. She told them they needed to leave and not come back. She warned them that people in this area would vanish, never to be seen again. The family decided to dismiss her warning. They believed she was just an eccentric, senile old woman. They Were Wrong.
One day the families oldest daughter named Mira wondered far from the cabin to an area that was rich with berries hoping to pick enough to make a pie. She never returned. Her father and brothers searched for her. They could hear her screams off in the distance, but she was never found. During the next few weeks Mira’s brother and sister also went missing. The remaining family members decided to burn the cabin and leave the area.
Many people have disappeared in these woods. This area is still not lived in because of this legend.
If you listen carefully,……you can still hear the screams of those who were never found and loud footsteps in the woods. Beware!!!!!!
