Every summer hoards of fishermen travel to Cordova for all of the excellent salmon fishing. What many of them may not know is that in 1991, in order to support the sport fisheries and silver populations, the City of Cordova and the Prince William Sound Aquaculture Corporation began hatching and releasing about 100,000 juvenile salmon every year. Depending on the season, you may get to see the holding pens with all of the smolts before they get released into the ocean!
