The days of Ski Butler are long gone. But before they were gone a
fellow Geocacher named TripLeader placed a cache very very near
this spot (See, GC8EC3). Well, so near this spot you can put one
hand on this cache, and the other on the spot where his once
was.
Why put it here? Well this was the first cache that I found with #1
of Jeep4Two shortly after she got me my first GPSr (Old blue eTrex
Legend).
This is a typical hide for this type of area and fairly easy. You
are seeking a 7.62mm ammo can that originally contained an
assortment of swag, a log and our signature PathTag for the FTF.
(If you already have my PathTag please leave for the next to
find).
To access the cache use the parking coordinates listed, they are at
the observation point at General Butler State Resort Park. Trail
Access is at the yellow gate by the observation point and cache is
located along the Fossil Trail.
If you would like a trail map, stop in at the lodge and pick one up
at the front desk. Tell them you are a Geocacher!
REMEMBER: Trails close at dusk at this state park, no night caching
allowed. Please hide as well or better than you found to avoid it
being seen from the trail.
Congrats to Tiki Tantrum for the FTF - Way to
go TIKI!
This cache has been placed according to Kentucky State Parks
Geocaching regulations and permission for placement given by Park
Manager, Tim Hibbard (502)-732-4384
